Turkish production and distribution heavyweight Inter Medya has sealed a strategic co-production pact with Dubai-based Rise Studios to jointly deliver high-end scripted drama.
The partnership kicks off with the premium Turkish series Caged Love (Tutsak Sevda). Production is slated for January 2026, while casting and the international rollout are already in motion. Inter Medya will take the lead as executive producer and handle all global distribution.
The series follows a young woman who, after being falsely accused and forced to escape, assumes another identity to protect a little girl with no one else in her life. Pulled into the orbit of an influential family, she navigates a world built entirely on borrowed truths.
Founded in 1992, Inter Medya has evolved from a film distributor into one of Turkey’s leading independent media players. Since its early-2000s expansion, the company has doubled down on Turkish-made dramas now broadcast in over 160 countries.
“We are excited to launch this strategic partnership with Rise Studios. Our aligned vision and ambition for globally scalable content give us full confidence in the quality of what we will create together,” said Can Okan, founder and CEO of Inter Medya. This joint investment strengthens both companies’ ability to build premium, internationally competitive productions.
Rise Studios—established in 2022 with a focus on MENA storytelling—has recently delivered titles such as Palestine 36, Once Upon a Time in Gaza, It’s Ok Elissa, All But Divorced, Forgetfulness, and A Nose and Three Eyes. These have streamed on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and regional players including MBC Shahid and OSN+.
“We are proud to collaborate with a partner that matches our appetite for bold, cross-border storytelling,” said Rise Studios CEO and founder Amanda Turnbull. “This alliance underscores our commitment to stories with global resonance—emotion-driven, ambitious, and built to travel. Caged Love is only the beginning of what we expect to be a long-term, high-impact partnership.”
